The Converse Chronicles

The Converse Chronicles is my own personal web blog that serves my blogging desires. That is unless you use Internet Explorer, then it serves only to aggrivate my internet existence (seriously, why haven't all you IE users converted to firefox, safari or chrome?) Converse Chronicles was built using F*%# Templates!, a minimalist blogging engine of my own design and is intended to be used as an online diary of my thoughts, opinions and observations. I could have used a template site such as wordpress or blogger.com but while these sites offered some great features they just wouldn't feel like home no matter how much CSS and PHP code I apply to them. People have told me that I'm not the blogging type and perhaps that's true but a few things have prompted me to create this site.

  • I've collected a variety of interesting stories and opinions along the way and with my memory being what it is I thought this might be useful.

  • The geek in me enjoys a challenge. Beside tutorial or two, this site is mainly my code. While it may not be as fancy or as feature rich as a template site I'm proud of what I've been able to do on my own.

  • Catharsis. I'm not going to lie, I like to question things, sometimes complain and state observations that are often times off the beaten path. Doing so provides me comfort.

So why Converse Chronicles? I've always had a pair of chucks since I was a young kid. Through all my adventures they've been there each step of the way. They might not offer good arch support and are horrible in the cold and in the rain but there's a sort of mental comfort I've come to associate with them. The chronicles part was mostly because it sounded better than anything else.

Legal Gibberish:
This site and the contents thereof are my own thoughts and opinions. While I use sources from time to time nothing here should be considered fact, trend or otherwise. I make no guarentee that the content of the blogs or materials posted here will not be offensive to some one some where including you the reader. In short... you read it, you deal with it.

Still here? Thanks for sticking around. Enjoy the site and feel free to leave comments or subscribe.
